March 1, 2025, marks a significant milestone for Georgian cinema as the Georgian Cinematography Association (GCA) officially became a full member of IMAGO, the International Federation of Cinematographers.
During an online IMAGO Extraordinary General Assembly (IEGA) meeting, GCA was introduced to IMAGO members by cinematographers George Shvelidze and Vigen Vartanov. Following the presentation, IMAGO members voted with a majority in favor, officially welcoming GCA into the global cinematography community.
IMAGO is a global federation that represents cinematographers from over 50 countries. Established in 1992, it aims to foster international cooperation, advocate for cinematographers’ rights, and promote the highest standards in filmmaking.
